February’s Inspiration- A Must Hear
Hello all,
A couple of potential projects may have slipped through my fingers only because I didn’t have strong enough “simplistic” piano pieces. You know me. Always trying to over complicate everything. What can I say…it’s more fun! Anyways, I finally got a chance to sit down and hone in on where it all began; she and the piano. And something really cool happened.
Beethoven’s Fur Elise was the first song I taught myself how to play on the piano. So, as you can imagine, I hold it near and dear to my heart. For years I’ve wanted to incorporate it into my music somehow but I could never figure out how. It’s public domain so it was just a matter of me playing something in and it’s mine to keep.
So last week, I started playing it as a means to inspiration and my own arrangement of the song popped out instead! I hope you like it. I don’t know exactly where it’s going yet…but it’s going somewhere.
Soon I plan on adding synth to it and see what result but for now…let’s keep it simple

Happy 2013!! Thanks 2012 for a Great Run!
2012 was such a great year. But I have a feeling 2013 will be even better. It’s been over 2 years since I packed up my little apartment in Portland and moved down to LaLa land to really give this music thing a chance. I have not regretted it for a single second!
Music report for 2012 and beyond:
- In July, we pushed hard for Drive to make it on a Dodge commercial through a contest sponsored by Reverbnation. You guys were AWESOME and I got almost as many “shares” as I did “votes”! That was amazing and I sooo felt the love!! Although we didn’t get it, it was a fun ride. Get it…ride…hehe;)
- I wrapped the 1st season of Pajanimals as a composers assistant. Most adorable children’s show ever!! You can find it on the Sprouts network as well as NBC Kids on Saturday mornings (check your local listings) I learned so much and am excited to continue working for that composer on his upcoming projects.
What 2013 will bring:
- Next up, another most adorable children’s show ever!! Details coming soon…
- I also submitted to a couple of Indabamusic opportunities (been a while since I utilized them but they had a couple of interesting things going on) Check out the following:
- Please listen and comment to get Drive reviewed by a top NY Electronic Music Blogger site Click Here
- Let’s get my track Haunted on a Russian Spy web show! Click here to listen and comment.
- I also added some new/archived tracks up on the website. Take a second and see if there is something you have not yet discovered… www.dreamrproductions.com
2013 has high hopes of being awesome and I fully intend to see those hopes through! Stick with me as we take on this music world.

Hot Summer of Hurry Up and Waits…
Hello my friends,
Been awhile, I know, since I posted anything. Beginning of July was a mad scramble to write a ton, submit even more, and make connections with long (and not so long) shots! And then the summer hit….and all musical functions and possibilities got really…really quiet. And I got placed into that very familiar and annoying spot of hurry up and wait.
But fear not, I always have at least 3 or 4 tricks up my sleeve and am very confident that this winter/new year will bring lots of exciting news that I can share with you!
While you’re waiting…here’s a few more tracks for you to digest. “Free” (in the Electronic music section of the site) was a challenge writing project given to me by my fiance. He challenged me to write a 5 note song. I thought, “pentatonic scale? done!” and I’m super happy with it. Putting limitations on my creativity actually really really works. I need to do that more often;)
Also, here’s a work for hire I did awhile back for a demo reel http://www.jeannamurphy.com/2012/06/20/356/ A collab of Kel and I’s. Believe it or not, that’s a stripped down version of our song “Vamp”.
I also added another music section to the website for piano solo works. Please peruse and let me know what you think.
Lastly, I’m so excited to present my first official logo for my company Dreamr Productions!! It’s been a long time coming but it was totally worth the wait. Thank you Nikki Klecha for your hard work on the design. I love it!! The picture is actually from a silhouette drawing of me and my brother way back when. I’ve wanted to use that picture for so long but didn’t know how till now. Yay!!
Have a great month and I’ll talk to you soon,
Jeanna

Read MoreJubilee Reach
What started as 4 1/2 minutes grew to 7 minutes which turned into 11 minutes. When it was all said and done (and after the client kept asking for longer and longer) the video turned out to be about 8 minutes long.
Hopefully, I’ll get the opportunity to revisit it and set the music myself. I was hoping to do that for this one which hasn’t yet worked out. So there is a bit of looping and placement for parts that I hadn’t written those parts to go with but….such is the life of a composer I suppose.
Overall, I’m very pleased with what it became and the fact that I was able to be a part of such a great cause.
Jubilee Reach is a great after school program in Bellevue Washington. Their programs (like the soccer program showcased in this video) are great motivational tools for the kids in the area to keep their grades up and their noses clean. It’s simple; you don’t keep your grades up and stay out of trouble, you’re off the team. And it seems to be working. The coaches also serve as positive adult role models for kids that may or may not have that important element in their lives.
So sit back, enjoy, and I’ll be posting more very soon.
Till then,
Jeanna

New Website and new Blogger Service
Hello friends,
I’m so thrilled to share my new website with you. It’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally set one up that focuses on the film and TV aspect of music that I’ve been moving towards. I’ll still post music but as I have begun to accumulate more and more film scoring projects it is more important to me to share the aspect of my work that is synced to picture.
Through the next several weeks keep checking back. I hope to have my documentary posted soon (still waiting on locked picture approvals to finesse the final touches) as well as lots of news on what projects I have in store for my upcoming summertime!
So as always. Glad to know you, love to hear from you and talk to you soon.
Jeanna
